Healing retreats - who we are and what we offer

Visiting a therapist can be helpful. It sure can be the opposite too. We have a different approach. Instead of regular one-hour- therapy or healing sessions you stay with us for a week – or more. We encapsulate you in an environment with many different types of medicine. Let us name a few:

  • Being heard and understood

  • Meditation

  • Massage

  •
Play! What made you happy as a kid? Playing football, picking flowers, cooking, building sandcastles, being creative? Let us know - we may bring some long-forgotten play back into your life.

  •
Daily swims in a holy lake

  • Healthy, local, well-tasting food.
(Try to look up the link between gut bacteria and depression/burnout or any other condition. The link between what we eat and how we feel is very overlooked by therapists).

  • Connecting with nature

  • Music

  •
Laughs & cries

  • Bird song

  • Herbal/plant medicine

After a stay with us you will have received some powerful tools to deal with yourself, your relationship, people and society. If you continue this path, you will be stronger, feel better, healthier and happier every day. The goal is that you one day will say 'I am very thankful for the crises that I went through! It kickstarted a journey that made me a happy, empowered person that I really love'.

You can read about our own healing journey here below - or go straight to our retreats at the bottom of the page.

About our background and our own healing journey

Our story is wild, and too long for this format. Without knowing it we stepped into the shamanic path about a decade ago, a path known as being one you are chosen for. It is a very difficult path and making it through takes a lot of strength. Our path went through ‘the normal world’. It was our businesses, our marriage, our relationships and society that caused us constant friction that we could grow from. We have now landed safely after the journey and feel ready to share our medicine.

Some of the many life challenges we have battled together, and that we are now ready to help other people go through, are:

  • Debt, bankruptcy and systemic violence

  • Being a heart-shaped person trying to fit into a square world (hint: it is not possible)

  • Leaving society behind to live life on our own terms

  • The dedication to making our soul’s mission a living

  • Severe stress and burn-out

  • Narcissistic abuse

  • Starting our life over from scratch several times

  • Meaninglessness, deep depression/dark night of the soul

  • Having our reputation battered by an international media storm

  • Making a marriage and twin flame relationship work through it all, including the years we spent living apart.

  • Creating a partnership in romance, parenthood and business that goes beyond our wildest dreams

  • Walking the shamanic path as a ‘normal’ person

  • Preparing for and Integrating psychedelic/plant medicine experiences

We went through all this and more and came out on the other side much stronger and wiser. In the process we got stripped off all that we are not and found our true self.

The issues you have right now can become blessings well disguised the best things that ever happened to you if you deal with them correctly. Use this opportunity wisely. And please, don't listen to your doctor and get something to suppress the symptoms. Your life is too important for that.

Our background

We are lifelong entrepreneurs with all that entails, and have created many different businesses together, always focusing on natural food, health and a sustainable lifestyle. Alongside all of this we have done the deep inner work we intuitively knew was the most important contribution to the creation of the more beautiful world our hearts know is possible. Our life has always, knowingly or unknowingly, been about participating in creating the new era for humanity, that we are now at the threshold of.

Flora has had a big interest in how the human psyche works since she was a sensitive child who always felt more at home in nature but also that she had to learn to fit in with humans. This interest was re-activated when she had her first serious stress breakdown in her early 30s and led to deep studies and a counselling certification in working with The Enneagram. She later studied shamanic healing and herbalism and has explored a range of different modalities like human design, tantra, plant spirit medicine, modern era shamanism/energy healing work and reading the akashic records. In her work as a chef, a journalist and a cookbook author she went deep into nutrition and ancestral eating. Her daily spiritual practices consists of working with nature spirits in her everyday activities such as cooking, gardening, hiking on the volcano, meditating by and swimming in the lake. She also has a spirit team that she speaks with on a daily basis. She just started her studies on Mayan cosmology, and she loves to join the Mayan fire ceremonies here in San Pedro.

Flemming has an education in marketing, logistics and economics. After a few years he decided that office life was not for him. He quit his job, went to France and later Canada and worked for several seasons as a ski guide. Out of the skiing seasons he got drawned into the restaurant business and started his first restaurant with functions, a seven-figure turnover and and a large team to run at the age of 30. He has lived a very extreme life where 100-hour work-weeks in a businesses with constant short deadlines and high perfomance is required.

Flemming insists on bringing integrity into every situation he is in, and this has caused him many problems. Food became his way into a holistic life style many years ago. A life style that includes, clean, vital, unrefined food, personal development, shamanic practises, a worklife balanced between creativity, meaning, physical labour, sensoric work and office hours. Never forgetting enthusiasm and play – especially when it was difficult.

A few years of fame created more problems than anything. A brutal narcissitic attack turned even his wife against him for some years while he created and ran an exclusive permaculture resort that gained enormous positive attention, several prizes and inspired people worldwide while his own world almost fell apart – almost divorced, chronically stressed and under extreme financial pressure. Eventually, he lost his business and went through an international media storm that questioned his entire curriculum of working with health and sustainability for more than 15 years. Through all this he managed to stay physically and mentally strong proving that you can improve on many parameters even under extreme pressure. This is what spiritual teachers recognize as the shamanic journey or the ‘hero’s journey’ – 10 years in chaos, desperation and darkness. If you come out of such a journey not being broken you have learned a lot! Empathy, boundairies, passion, love, relations and much more. The journey included 2 years of training in shamanic healing, many books and courses about self development, a lot of plant medicine and huge amounts of money spent on therapy.

Flemming is a specialist in being holistic. There are so many medicines. Being heard with understanding and without judgment, nature, laughter, nature, food and empathic guidance. Combined this can be very powerful! Perhaps, his strongest medicine is to observe negative patterns and tactics that keep people in a negative positon. And he has the balls to tell the ones who are ready to listen.

Where are we at now?

Our healing journey was a long and winding road of ups and downs. Sometimes it seemed like it would never end, the struggles and hardships that we now know are a part of the shamanic journey. But we feel it’s safe to say we are past the long dark tunnel and out in the light again.

We turned our lives from being in a very difficult situation to having a life that is very close to being in full alignment with our values. Both our romantic relationship and our partnership in business goes way beyond our wildest dreams, we like the people we see in the mirror, we have good friends who have our backs, our kids are doing well, particularly considering what we took them through, and physically we are in the best shape of our lives at the age of 47 and 52, as these words are written in 2025.

What does it take to live a life beyond your wildest dreams?

Living your dream life is possible, but it takes deep inner work, radical self-acceptance and a commitment to not settling for anything less than a deeply delicious, fulfilling life in every little detail. It also takes a lot of trust and some sacrifices.

We have made some bold and unorthodox choices to get where we are at now. We have burned bridges; cut cords and chosen paths many would have never dared to go down. We have unapologetically followed the ways of our hearts. It has had a lot of consequences for us, but the gifts are even bigger. We strongly recommend more people to dare follow their dreams and that little voice that says there must be more to life.

We now live a life that looks and feels like a dream but is real, touchable manifested reality.

It didn’t come easily, and it took a lot of sacrifice, both financially and personally. Years of our lives have been spent on doing healing work, of those countless investigations of our deepest fears, shame and outdated patterns. We have spent many evenings and nights puking dark shit up in plastic buckets and just as many mornings feeling completely blissful and connected to a source higher than us. We have healed ourselves in many ways and helped people out of abuse and to find/change their path in life. We have lost everything we built up several times, but always managed to get back up on our feet and build something even better.

Our knowledge is also based on nature's intelligence, evolution, science, traditional wisdom and not least our intuition. Basically, it all comes to the fact that the closer we are to nature, the better we feel on all levels. That goes for our environment, what we eat, how we move, think, feel etc. Nature’s intelligence is so beautiful that what is good for us is also good for Mother Earth. Of course! We advocate for and show a way of living that is truly sustainable.

At the same time we are a normal family with friends, kids and a business. We love loud music, good food, belly laughs and driving a motorbike – and occasionally we also enjoy to have a chat with the spirit realm.
